What to bring

We meet at our agency in Tena at 8:30 am. From there we travel by car to Ahuano, where we change to a motorized canoe. This takes us to a Kichwa family, where we make our own chocolate. On a half-hour hike through the jungle, you will learn more about the plants used by the indigenous peoples in the area. At the end of the hike we visit a large Ceibo tree.

Afterwards, the canoe takes us further downstream to the Amazoonico animal rescue center. The rescue center will then guide you through the various enclosures and tell you more about the animals.
We then visit a small island on the opposite bank. Here we will also shoot with a blowpipe and have lunch.
Afterwards we will look for free-living caimans in a pond. Here we can also observe various birds.

Our canoe will then be waiting for us on the back of the island to take us back to Ahuano, where we will be picked up by our driver.
We are back in Tena at around 16:00.
